About

Hey, welcome to my blog! I'm Finny; how are you? Read around; i'm sure there's something you can relate to.. or teach me. p.s my Jesus rocks =) and so do my awesomely amazing friends.

Standout~

Well, i'm here to talk to you today about a very special....er....character. But it bears a relatively important message that sorta just came to me, so i thought i'd share it with you guys. Since Cuz's gone off to get some food, i guess i can start now.

But first, about my week. My FIRST week back at school. It was actually pretty boring, perhaps the most interesting part of the week was that we have exams in week 6 instead of week 9, which sorta comes as a surprise but hey, at least we can get it over and done with as early as possible yea? ><, other people beg to differ but did you ever think that it would also cut down content? .....actually, maybe it wont for most subjects, ho well ><.

School is a change, after my really active holidays, i think.....perhaps it wasn't so "aww damn back to school again." i mean, i'm kinda used to going back to school after holidays (12 years of it, you think?) so now instead of whinging about it, i'm just sorta like...."meh". Maybe it's just me, but you know.

Anyway, for those that were wondering (for the many that know) I played in the firsts on Saturday (badminton)!! Against Scotch College, and holy crap, we worked them good XD In the end i think the score was somewhat 8-1 to us, the only person losing a match was Sam (incidentally our A1 player and captain xD) but he lost to a err.....very very good player so i guess we cant reli be too critical about that >< My guy was nice....but he sorta gave up after a bit, so it was a walkover at 15-3, 15-7? He tried to fight back in the second set but....yea no buts XD.

Annnyway that was my week, pretty weirdly boring actually.

But now, i'll intro you to erm....the main character of this blog, the theme of which is summarised in the blog title. Standing Out, or being a Standout. In other terms, being different to others, going against the flow. Let me show you something:

For sake of personification, (so that you can identify with my message more), this is Summer. As you can see, Summer is a beautiful white flower (i wont go into detail, just for Kim XD), she's probably not the most interesting flower you'll see in your life, she's actually pretty plain. She's not too smart, she's not too beautiful, just lives with contentment yet also strives to do her best. However, there's another very important thing about Summer that makes her different to the rest of her kind....very different, in fact.

i err, really dont think i need to explain what it is to you, but i will anyway. Summer chose to stand out from the rest, to do things a bit differently. To be a different colour, to have a different way of living, a different attitude at heart....nobody will ever know. The point is, she's different, in more ways that one perhaps. That makes her all the more special.

She doesn't exactly fit in, and for that, the others might make fun of her. It's always harder to survive on your own. But she's got a strong will to live how she chooses, and live on she will. Others may be prettier:

more elegant, graceful, stylish, taller, anything more, but if they dont choose to stand out like her, they just go along with the flow.....then...

Well, they just become another 'one', another figure. Another portion of the current flowing down the same stream. The morale of the story? dont be afraid to stand out! You may not be as strong, pretty, fit or intelligent as others, but if you are willing to be different, then you'll find that the strengths that you have will shine out. And you WILL be something special. Stand for God in a hostile environment. Dont be afraid.

And in the end, who knows? It becomes obvious to others, and they, too, might choose to change.

Dare to be a Daniel?

Fin~
