About

Hey, welcome to my blog! I'm Finny; how are you? Read around; i'm sure there's something you can relate to.. or teach me. p.s my Jesus rocks =) and so do my awesomely amazing friends.

calm before the storm Saturday, May 31, 2008 |

I love the rain, and i love how it pours.

Today was something quite different as the rain and wind absolutely thundered past our house (pardon the pun). There were flashes of lightning every few seconds and even hail for a short period of time. As the storm grew, a couple (literally 2) pidgeons came to rest under our veranda, seeking shelter from the rain. They sat under the table i think. (Mimi seemed to have no quarrel with them)

Then almost as quick and suddenly as it had started, it subsided to little more than a drizzle, the sun seemed to shine brighter and the water that was flooding the areas around our garden was slowly absorbed by the soil; the puddles that were so large only a few minutes back shrank to little more than wet patches.

I was trying to study, however apparently i was too fascinated by it all - and didn't get much done. Was alone with Mimi at home, at first she seemed quite scared by the thunder and all but after a while it was evident that she was just upset she couldn't go outside to eat >.>

Funny though, i swear halfway through the storm, i could almost hear chariots - and swords amongst the flashes of lightning, and roars of thunder.

We fall down Friday, May 30, 2008 |

do you fall?

sometimes don't you wish that you didn't have to, in order to learn? Dont you wish that you could learn without a lesson. Do you wish that you could just identify and then take wisdom in as you observed it.

Or are you the type that wishes they could learn the point of every lesson on first attempt, and not have to undergo the pain of not having learnt the point in the first place.

Don't know?

neither do i.

But we do fall.

you've got it all. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 |

Has anybody ever told you,

"you've got everything. You've got all the friends that you'll ever need and enough people to care for you so that you'll never fall."

Funnily i've been told this many times, and yes; i know i do - i'm most thankful for my amazing friends, i really am. Over the past year or two, i've learnt how not to take them for granted, how they're so valuable to me.

To those who may wish like they had 10 best friends, all ready to catch you when you fall; do remember; friendship, is a two way thing.

What happens when those 10 whom you are so dear to, fall? What happens when they stumble and need somebody to pull them up again. Simple, you're there for them. Try all at once, and you'll soon find that being a friend is much more than just being.

It's about throwing your own feelings in the bin, and relying on nothing but God and the air He gives you to sustain not only you but all of your friends. It's about failing; for success. It's about lowering yourself to pick up. It's about crying to smile.

It's about dying, to live.

I really cant imagine how He felt.

almost a physical weight,

feels heavy. problem it's heavy when they are, and it's not when they're not.

All aside, it's not really fun at all, be serious.

black spot, white page;
focus.

welcome to a world of problems.

The perfect groom. Friday, May 09, 2008 |

"The perfect groom loves children, and will raise them by your side.
he'll be a good father and husband to his bride.
the perfect groom is sweet, writing poetry with your name,
he's the best friend of your mother, and kisses away your pain.
He'll never make you cry, nor hurt you in any way,
And if this poem is damned to be true, then Shane;

You really are gay."

- 'Shane's best man's' speech '08

sheer brilliance.

What will you be doing? Monday, May 05, 2008 |

She was walking the dog. It was a beautiful, sunny day in the park; she decided to spend it by herself, quietly praying and smiling as the shadows created by the afternoon sun, grazing softly against the trees, kept her cool, and comfortable. Thank You.

He was typing an email, his fingers moving ever-so-fast as they danced across the face of the keyboard, one word, then 10, then 100, then 2000. He needed to get his message across to her, typing ever so fast. Ever so fast. I love you.

She was sad, she hadn't had a very good day, and she was tired. Tired of it all, tired of work, tired of friends, tired of life. She was weary; as she slumped onto the couch, her bag flying across the room and landing somewhere under her bed. Why isn't life better. God, where are you?

He wasn't doing great, under alot of stress from his exams, and from all the work that he had to do. On top of that he had to manage many things, his family was falling apart, he risked losing his job, and he was slowly burning out. But he kept his head above it, prayed regularly for strength - and even though he couldn't feel Him near, he stayed true to his faith, always loyal - always wishing for the best, even if he didn't feel like he had it.

All of them heard it. You couldn't mistake it.

A clean, single note, above the afternoon noises of traffic on the freeway, and trains bringing people home from work. And another, this time different - a call. Time, as we know it; stood still.

Fall on your knees.

How would you have spent your life, up till that point?

What will you be doing, when you're called Home?
